Heya, I've been animating now for two or so years on different software, but now I've settled on Flash MX 2004. I'm hoping to launch my first full animation soon, and I can't wait! See ya around!

Spring

Posted by Skruffy Dec. 22, 2009 @ 1:59 PM EST

Yeah yeah, I know Spring isn't quite here yet, but I wanted to apologise to anyone who read my previous posts and was perhaps waiting expectantly for the submission of my promised animation 'Twilight Echoes' (Yeah right!) Anyways, there are a few reasons as to why that never came to be.
Firstly, I did finish the animation, but I wasn't pleased with the end result, mainly the character animation, which as it turned out looked very robotic.
Secondly, by the time I had finished the animation, I had to revise for exams >_> So in the end I didn't have time to revise the character animation and by the time that I had enough time to finish it, it had become old and boring, so I ended up binning the project.
So, now, even though I have more exams on the horizon, I have started a new project as more of a recreational deal and it will be called 'Spring'. Even though it will be mainly a recreational project, I'm gonna do the best job I can on it, 'cause I'm fed up of unfinished projects hanging over me, and really, that's the main reason I haven't submitted anything.
The story will be based on another world, untouched by humans and ruled by creatures of the forest. I have been heavily inspired by the works of Adam Phillips, especially his Brackenwood series, plus I've always been fascinated by the beauty of nature and I think Adam had the right idea about creating a whole new world rather than telling stories about our somewhat worn out Earth. (I also found a similar font to the one he uses in the Brackenwood series! Don't sue me!)
So, yeah, sorry 'bout the rant, but I don't want to give too much away, 'cause that would limit me, and that is the one thing that I can't stand!

Happy Holidays!

Concept

Posted by Skruffy Jul. 24, 2009 @ 5:29 AM EDT

Yesterday I picked up where I left off with the project, and I was surprised that I got more done in one day than I did in one week when I started! At this rate it should be finished in the next few weeks. It would be nice to finally get some feedback on my hard work! (Not to sure what to expect really!) Anyway, I promised some concept art, and concept art there shall be! But only after I figure out how to use my new scanner/printer/photocopier/thing's scanner function.

Edit: Ok, the scanner's working now, so here are my original drawings of some characters and scenery.

Intro Finished

Posted by Skruffy Apr. 13, 2009 @ 4:19 AM EDT

Just in case anyone is actually reading my news, I've finished the intro to my animation, and I've also got a name for it. (But I'm not telling you!) The music is written by my good friend Jezzas (He doesn't have a Newgrounds account, so if you want to talk to him, visit the forums on my site.) and it has a Celtic folk theme. I'm hoping to get about half of the animation done before the end of the Easter holidays, and I'll keep writing, even if no one's listening!

P.S. Next submission, I might include some concept art and stuff.
